Typically I don’t do this, post more than one picture on a Photo Challenge. I’ve just returned from a Holiday, however, where the only thing that matters is the details. Suffice it to say that for 16 lovely days, I wallowed in being ‘Lost’. 🙂
(I have over 1000 photos to prove it …)
Being a Canadian Gal, I’d be remiss if I didn’t admit to being lost in the presence of the architecture. We simply don’t have the History that Europe does. Walking down cobblestone streets and looking up caused me to stumble more than once.
The Churches, of course, have more stunning and beautiful details than I can begin to describe with words. I felt uncomfortable taking pictures in them, and caught some teasing for resorting to an actual genuflection before entering a row of chairs for a hushed moment or two in Lisbon. Catholicism runs deep, it seems.
These little fellows were no doubt related to much of my diet while we were there. Shrimp, Cod, Swordfish, Salmon … they sat plattered in a restuarant window with crabs and other eyed fish. These, being the prettiest, earned a spot on my blog and on my plate.
Yours truly, lost in the detail of one of the many mirrors that haunted tight corners and roadways. In Canada, (and my particular section of Ontario) our roads are shouldered, wide, and no such devices are needed. This trip, I did not capture ketchup bottles and salt packets as I have done in Cuba and Dominican; my details are getting bigger, but still interesting in their uniqueness.
What vacation is complete without the detail of millions and millions of shells, ground down to be a much-played with layer of cool or hot sand to imbed into your cheek when you nap, your toes when you walk, and your clothes when you leave the beautiful water behind …
